CSS only edit
I decided to replace the gadget with my own version, which has been used in Russian Wikipedia for last 4 years. Its advantages: support for displays with high density, no JavaScript, faster loading, no requests to upload images (even if they are cached, but still every time code 304 is given). I do not mind replacing any icons, if someone thinks they need to be replaced. And I'm even ready to help with this. —putnik 22:08, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
