Constraint "licensed to broadcast to" and "inception"

edit

@99of9: Can these somehow be limited to instances of actual broadcast stations? Vehicle call signs for ships and aircraft are not licensed to a specific area but can be used anywhere, so the improvement suggestion to add these constraint don't make sense. @De728631: I don't know how to do that within a constraint. Why wouldn't there be an inception (date it started)? The "licensed to broadcast" could be set to some kind of unrestricted value. --99of9 (talk) 00:17, 22 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
There is or course an inception date when the radio licence is granted for the vehicle. However, other than broadcasting stations that are publicly noticeable when they begin their service, vehicle call signs are just an administrative act, and even even the publicly accessible ship registers do usually not store the inception date of the call sign. So I think it doesn't make sense to log this date for vehicles in the WD dataset. As to the "licensed to broadcast to", is there any property similar to "worldwide"?
Now for the improvement suggestion in general. Would it be possible to test this against the "instance of"? If an item is "instance of" ship or aircraft or any subclass thereof, the suggestion would not be shown. De728631 (talk) 20:17, 22 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

service entry should be a valid alternative to Inception

edit

The constraint that Inception is required should be broadened so service entry (P729) is also acceptable for things like ships. Vicarage (talk) 06:44, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
