- Motivation
TAXREF is the official national taxonomic reference of France. In the version 9.0, there are 431097 names. It can be download here with a free account (so we can maybe match with bots or Mix'n'match). On the website, there is a lot of information (taxonomy, vernacular names in French and English, status biogegraphical in French territories, history and archeology, habitats, pictures, etc.). More information in this PDF file (TAXREF v9.0, référentiel taxonomique pour la France : méthodologie, mise en œuvre et diffusion. (Q26931397), in French). Tubezlob (🙋) 20:37, 17 September 2016 (UTC)

- Support - My bot can handle the mapping. --Succu (talk) 21:09, 17 September 2016 (UTC)

- Support - If TAXREF is to be used as a source, especially by a bot, it should have its own entity and the revision used by the bot should be stated with a qualifier. --EdouardHue (talk) 12:44, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
- Support, I have some questions (but non-blocking for creation) : Tubezlob could you add information about the allowed values ? integers is maybe fine but it seems a bit too wide, isn't there a fixed length, a minimum, etc. ? (I tried quickly and randomly, I didn't find id lower than 100) EdouardHue, I think I agree, but could you give an example just to be sure where on the same page? - @VIGNERON: On the file v9.0, it ranges from 17 to 813309 (open with LibreOffice Base). So there is no fixed length and the minimum is 17. Tubezlob (🙋) 19:04, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
- @VIGNERON, Tubezlob, Succu: I've just created TAXREF (Q26924544). To clarify my position above, I think the property should have constraints similar to those of ITIS TSN (P815) and that statements built from TAXREF (vernacular names and such) should include the TAXREF version number in the reference. Statements referenced with previous versions should have the deprecated status. --EdouardHue (talk) 19:45, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
- EdouardHue: English labels would be helpful. --Succu (talk) 20:31, 18 September 2016 (UTC)

- Thx. The versioning should be handled like that for IUCN Red List (Q32059) (one item per version). We will have a rank contraint similar to this this one (species <including cultivars>, subspecies, variety, forma, subvariety, subforma). There are ids for taxa at other ranks, but the ids are not exposed by the website. --Succu (talk) 15:42, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
- @Succu: I created TAXREF v9.0 (Q26936509). Tubezlob (🙋) 19:32, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
