IOC World Bird List and its many versions are lists of translations of common names (or in some twisted cases, translations of scientific names) of birds to many languages. The problem is that is used as a source of common names, but common names should not be translated/translations are not valid (being the common name the name used by the community where the taxon lives). Many birds items have a long string of names with the IOC World Bird List different versions as the reference. These "common names" should be deleted and all IOC World Bird List versions deprecated as a reference for common name. Should I ask a bot for this? --Lmalena (talk) 10:01, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
