Task/s:
- The bot is going to fix interwiki links for the Lombard Wikipedia
Code:
Function details: The bot's a small bot which fixes Interwikis on the Lombard Wikipedia, since bots doing that job stopped some times ago and we need that service. The bot will run only when needed (i.e. when there are unconnected articles). I'm quite sorry I tested it by mistake on live data, but I did it after some local tests and on a limited data set :) --Sciking (talk) 20:25, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm adding the bot is made with PyWikiBot and automatically respects cooldown times. I'm a bot owner on the Lombard Wikipedia since 2016 and I helped Lombard Wiktionary on bot matters. --Sciking (talk) 20:27, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- I read the source but I'm not sure I understand what it's doing. It checks if an lmo page has an item. If it doesn't then it checks if an it item has the same title? If so then it updates the sitelink to be that title? But that doesn't match what the test edits you ran do? Am I missing something? BrokenSegue (talk) 17:48, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- It checks on the Italian (or another language, if needed) Wikipedia for an article with the same name (or with slight modifications, if needed and it's regular, example: translating Region or District in order to link them) and extracts the item, adding the Lombard article to it.
- It's worth noting that the bot will run only when needed, so when a bot writes some articles and they are not linked on Wikidata (and that happens usually with cities or regions, so the articles have the same name), so I will check every time if the condition is met.
- You could look at an example here, the bot will be used in cases as such. Clearly, if the bot changes its behaviour, I'll ask the community permission. Sciking (talk) 18:45, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- ok sounds reasonable Support BrokenSegue (talk) 20:16, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

- I'm going to make test edits in the next days. Circa 200 could be good? Sciking (talk) 12:24, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

- Ok, I checked and it's between 50 and 250. I'm going do to an entire category, which is near 150 articles. Sciking (talk) 17:34, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
