Projects edit
Describing Emory entities edit
This project involves the creation and updating of Wikidata items for members of Emory University’s faculty, as well as academic departments, research centers, interdisciplinary programs, and endowed professorships.
- Emory University faculty without LCNAF identifiers Adding LCNAFs in Wikidata will also get the Wikidata IDs into the corresponding LCNAF authority records, via an automated process run by LC. This means that if you have LCNAF identifiers in your catalog records, you will be able to programmatically access all the information related to the person in Wikidata. If additional identifiers from other schemas are present in the Wikidata item, you may also be able to pull information from those sources as well.
- Some Emory presidents are missing a relationship to Emory University or are missing from Wikidata.
NACO entities edit
This project centers on adding Wikidata entities when a new NACO name is generated from Emory University. This may not be appropriate in all cases depending on notability. New Wikidata entities should include at least 10 properties at a minimum, including the LCNAF identifier and references to the source of information whenever possible. Some general properties and guidelines for establishing people may be found on the Stanford WikiProject page. Information about creating references can be found here.
Multilingual content edit
This project centers on enriching item page fields (specifically labels, descriptions, and aliases) in multiple languages.
Linking archival collections edit
The Stuart A. Rose Library adds statements for archival collections held by Emory University to existing items using archives at (P485). We plan to add oral history at (P9600) for oral histories of significant people in Emory's collections.
Linking museum collections edit
The Carlos Museum adds statements for artists with works held by Emory University using has works in the collection (P6379).
