WikiProject Policies

WikiProject Policies is a Wikidata community project seeking to develop data for policies. Activities include creating Wikidata items for policies, structuring data in policies to make them machine actionable, and developing queries to gain insight about policies in aggregate.

About edit

Policies of special and longer term interest to Wikimedia community members are those for privacy, open content, and conduct, as these policies affect the relationships users have with Wikimedia projects and the relationships that Wikimedia users have with other online platforms and communities.

Researchers from outside Wikidata share information about policies here while using information from Wikidata to enrich the information they have collected.

Project activities include -

  • Identifying classes of policies
  • Recommending data models for policies both in general and for specific classes
  • Inviting and encourage documentation, journalism, and research about policies and using Wikidata insights
  • Revealing, building, and maintaining community stakeholdership for the inclusion and management of source metadata in Wikidata.
