Notes Le Docteur Gachet (1828 - 1909), auteur d'une thèse soutenue à Montpellier sur la mélancolie, fut un grand ami des peintres Renoir, Monet et Cézanne. Proche de Van Gogh, il l'accueille dans sa propriété à Auvers-sur-Oise, où l'artiste se donna la mort en 1890.
