The name, Timotocia, here proposed is a combination of two Greek words [timo] and [tokeis], signifying "honouring parents", and is given in Honour of and commemoration of Dr and Mrs Charles Edwarad Moldenke, my beloved and respected parents, without whose labors and ascrifices a career in botany would have been impossible for me, who have always been supremely interested in all forms of Nature and natural history, and who have assisted me immeasurably during the last ten years in the collection, preservation, identification and distribution of over 50,000 plant specimens.
