Шевченко подарував цей малюнок начальникові експедиції О.І.Бутакову, коли той у січні 1850 р. виїджав до Петербурга. На звороті малюнка Шевченко записав: «Веневитинова и Кольцова, въ одном переплете». Малюнок виконаний під час зимівлі учасників Аральської експедиції на острові Косарал (з 26 вересня 1848 р. до 6 травня 1849 р.). Тривалий час малюнок зберігався в родинах Бутакових-Глазенапів, а 1912 р. був переданий в Україну. Сепія. 24,7 × 18,3 Місце створення: Казахстан, Кизилординська область, Аральський район, острів Косарал. |
