Civil war era revolver, patent mark, " Savage R. F. A. Co Middletown, CT/H.S. North Patented June 17, 1856/January 18 1859. May 15 1860" The Navy had a contract for 800 revolvers in 1861 in addition to the 300 delivered in 1860.
