It was subsequently sold to Joseph Barchard, Esq. from whom itwas purchased by Mr. Emmerson, at the price of 800 gs. Thispicture is of the most precious quality, and is unquestionablyone of the choicest of this artists productions. Exhibited in the British Gallery, 1821. Now in the collection of the Right Honourable Robert Peel.121 in. by 16J in.—P. 29. The Interior of a cottage, with a company of four men infront, one of whom is standing with his hat in his hand, andhis back to the chimney ; whilst another, who is sitting down,appears to be offering him a glass of beer; near the latter area child, eating soup out of a basin on a chair, and a dogwatching it; two persons are in the back-ground, playing attric-trac; and a third is looking on.
