Портрет юного офицера Казачьего полка Дмитриева-Мамонова (Портрет офицера ополчения 1812 года)

Неизвестный художник первой четверти 19 века

Портрету молодого офицера была посвящена статья В.М. Глинки. где он писал: „Перед нами подросток, одетый в черную форму казачьего покроя с обер-офицерскими золотыми эполетами. Он в полной боевой готовности — с лядункой через плечо, снабженной шомполом и двумя шпильками—„протравниками" на цепочках (служившими для прочистки пистолетного механизма), левая рука опирается на саблю с офицерским темляком... Его форма наиболее близка к обмундированию конного полкаТульского ополчения, сформированного в 1812 году". В кругу музейных работников портрет много лет носил условное обозначение „портрета Пети Ростова", героя романа Л.Н. Толстого „Война и мир", погибшего в бою пятнадцатилетним мальчиком. Возраст младших офицеров во время наполеоновских войн 1805—1814 годов часто был очень юным. А.Н. Раевский и Н.Н. Раевский, П.Я. Чаадаев, А.С. Грибоедов, многие из будущих декабристов начинали военную службу в возрасте 15—16 лет.
