Description
English: Amazons hunting, 2nd century, Harbiye. Inv 820. In the center of the mosaic an amazon has just wounded a lion, which can be seen at the horse's feet. A servant with a sunshade protects the huntress from the sun. The right side of the composition is filled with trees and rocks, while at the left another horse's head and an arm are visible. The mosaic was part of a floor of a villa.
