Bow-and-fantail type brooch
Description
English: Two-piece brooch. Solid cast chain-loop. Hinge in cylindrical housing, pin intact, but broken at lower end. Short, rounded plain wings. Narrow rectangular-sectioned curved bow, which splays slightly to join a flat, triangular fan-tailed foot. The foot is decorated with a formalised Celtic broken-back scroll pattern, with a lozenge above. Red enamel surviving at both sides above the scroll motif. Catch-plate to full leg height.
