Description
English: Cast copper alloy Roman button and loop fastener. Length 29mm, width 17mm, thickness 21mm, weight 15.44g. The fastener comprises a head which is circular in plan and hemispherical in section. The upper surface of the head is decorated with a triskele type pattern. From the underside of the head, there extends at right angles, a triangular openwork loop. The loop is sub-rectangular in section. It can be classified as Wild Class III, dating to the late 1st- 2nd century AD.
