Dansk: KJOBENHAVNS REED DEN 1. MAY 1832. PRINS FREDERIK GAAR OM BORD PAA FREGATTEN HAVFRUEN FOR AT GORE SIG EN SEJLTUR , 1832. 77 x 125 cm. (30.3 x 49.2 in.). The two Danish frigates in the painting are the Nymphen and the Havfruen. Prince Frederik (the later king Frederik VII) stayed on the Havfruen from May 1 to June 10 "to make himself acquainted with the service at sea", as prescribed by his great uncle, king Fredrik VI.
