Deutsch: An der Fackelträger-Säule am Maschsee ist die Stadttafel Nummer 135 unter den Titeln "Kunst im Dritten Reich und Art under the Third Reich" eine der ersten mehrsprachigen in Hannover. Abschrift der nicht urheberrechtlich geschützten Texte:

„1937 stellte die Stadt die 4,5 m große Statue "Fackelträger" von Hermann Scheuernstuhl (1894-1982) auf den bereits zur Einweihung des Maschsees errichteten 18 m hohen Pfeiler. NS-Kunst heroisierte "Gesundheit" und "Kraft". Die auf einer Kugel postierte nackte Figur nimmt Bezug auf den Hitlergruß und das Olympische Feuer, das 1936 erstmals von Olympia zu den Spielen getragen wurde. Die "Siegessäule" vereinnahmte den Bau des Sees und verherrlichte den NS-Staat mit der Inschrift am Sockel. 1945 wurde das Hakenkreuz herausgeschlagen.“

„In 1937 Hannover City Council hin der entsprechenden Form sind.ad the 4.5-metre statue of a torch-bearer by Hermann Scheuernstuhl (1884-1982) set atop the 18-metre column erected in 1936 for the inauguration of the Maschsee. Nazi art idolised health and strength. Poised on a sphere, the nude figure refers to the Nazi salute and the Olympic flame carried to the games for the first time in 1936. The "Victory Column" glorified the Nazi State on its plinth inscription, from which the swastika was strugged off in 1945“
