Inscriptions (Verso) inscribed "Dessin donné a M. Denis par M. Boucher, peintre de l'academie Royal en avrille 1752" by Boucher on a separate piece of paper applied to the mount. (Verso) printed "21" on a separate sheet of paper applied to the mount.
Notes Throughout his long career, Boucher made two to three drawings a day, producing approximately ten thousand known works ranging from quick sketches to finished compositions like this one.[1]
