Description
Español: Retrato de la reina Isabel de Borbón (1602-1644), que fue hija del rey Enrique IV de Francia y la primera esposa del rey Felipe IV de España. El estilo de este pintor anónimo se relaciona con los retratistas de la segunda mitad del s. XVI e inicios del XVII: Antonio Moro, Sánchez Coello o Pantoja de la Cruz, caracterizado por la filigrana de los vestidos, la fuerte iluminación empleada y la atención al rostro y las manos. Su atribución resulta complicada, considerando Allende-Salazar que podría tratarse de un retrato ejecutado por Angelo Nardi, pintor italiano que llegó a España en 1607, trabajando hasta su fallecimiento en 1665.

En su Historia y guía de los museos de España, Juan Antonio Gaya Nuño lo describe como "retrato anónimo, excelente, acaso por Angelo Nardi, de la reina Isabel de Borbón, primera esposa de Felipe IV". En otra fuente (Arte y saber: la cultura en tiempos de Felipe III y Felipe IV : 15 abril-27 junio 1999) se indica: "retrato de Isabel de Borbón (de 1618 por Bartolomé González para la Sala de Retratos de El Pardo). Atribuido en el pasado a Pantoja de la Cruz y al italiano Angelo Nardi (1584-1666), quizá podría ser obra de Rodrigo de Villandrando, retratista muy desigual.
