Summary

Description Concrete statue of Emperor Hendrik IV. The original statue used to be part of the Mariachurch, which was set up by Hendrik IV. This church no longer exists and is replaced by a conservatoire building. A wooden copy of the statue of Hendrik IV was placed in 1850 at the corner of the Mariaplaats/Mariastraat. Around 1978 the wooden statue was replaced by a concrete version made by Evert van Kooten Niekerk. The original wooden statue is now part of the Centraal Museum.[1]
