Polski: Obraz krakowski ukazuje w dużym zbliżeniu na pierwszym planie św. Józefa – podczas ucieczki Świętej Rodziny do Egiptu. W tle widoczny jest górzysty pejzaż ze strumykiem i kamiennym mostkiem, namalowany delikatnie i lekko i oświetlający Marię pochylającą się nad Dzieciątkiem. Opis ucieczki znajdujemy w Ewangelii według świętego Mateusza (2; 13–15). Krakowski obraz powstał zapewne już w późnym okresie twórczości Luki Giordano, kiedy jego dzieła cechował jasny, prawie już rokokowy koloryt. Podobny sposób malowania widoczny jest w jego obrazie Sen Salomona z 1693 roku w madryckim Muzeum Prado. (Dorota Dec)
