Deutsch: Gelehrte, welche die Hamburger Staatsinstitute leiteten und nach der Schließung des Akademischen Gymnasiums 1883 verpflichtet waren, die öffentlichen Vorlesungen fortzuführen, die als Allgemeines Vorlesungswesen in Hamburg großen Zulauf hatten.
(von links nach rechts) der damaligen Direktor der Stadtbibliothek Robert Münzel, Carl August Voller vom Physikalischen Staatslaboratorium, Karl Kraepelin als Direktor des Naturhistorischen Museums und Leiter des Zoologischen Staats-instituts.
