Description
Kræn Wollesen was actually named Christian Olesen (1841-1906) and he was a Skagen fisherman and boat builder, married to Elsie Marie, née Sørensen Ottesen (1844-1932). Source: Elisabeth Fabritius, Skagensmalerne Anna og Michael Ancher og deres kreds, Volume VI, page 178-179. The experts at Bruun Rasmussen were not able to decipher the date next to Ancher's initials on the painting.
