From the auction notes: Inscription on the reverse, 'Frøken Ancher, haven på Amalievej, 1910', and 'Til M. Nielsens 70 årig fødselsdag, fra M. Ancher, 1914'. Since Helga Ancher's birth in 1883 she was one of Michael Ancher's favourite models and she is a recurrent figure in many of the artist's principal works.
