Español: El cuadro fue un regalo de Villavicencio al rey Carlos II de España, que posiblemente estuvo motivado por las audiencias diplomáticas concedidas por dicho soberano en 1693 y en 1694, en las que el autor estuvo presente por su condición de miembro de la asamblea del priorato de Castilla en la Orden de Malta y de secretario de la embajada de dicha Orden en España.
