Title
Nyckelharpa (M2508)
Description
Svenska: Nyckelharpa.

Scenkonstmuseet: M2508.

Tonomfång: a¹, b¹/a¹#, h¹, c², c²#/d²b (?), d² (?), d²#/e²b (?), e² (??), f² (?), f²# (?), g² (?), g²#/a²b, a², b², h² (?), c³ (?), d³, e³, f# (?), g/g# (?) (?) = tonplatsen något högre än den givna tonplatsen. (?)

Pitch range: a¹, b¹/a¹#, h¹, c², c²#/d²b (?), d² (?), d²#/e²b (?), e² (??), f² (?), f²# (?), g² (?), g²#/a²b, a², b², h² (?), c³ (?), d³, e³, f# (?), g/g# (?) (?) = the tone pitch is slightly above the given pitch. (?) = the tone pitch is slightly below the given pitch. (??) = the tone pitch is aproximately in between the given pitch and the half note above. It is difficult to determine the original pitch of the instrument since the bridge is missing and one cannot assume that the keys lie at exactly the same angle to the string as when the instrument was last in use. One note may vary considerably in pitch, depending upon its position in the melody. That is due to variations in player's touch, the design of the key box, the pressure of the bow and the material used for the strings. The old nyckelharpas, like this one, did'nt have steel strings but gut or silk strings which are more flexible than the former. (Ling) Acquisition year 1954
