Description
Kilde: Peter Michael Hornung, Peder Severin Krøyer, page 32.
English: Krøyer painted portraits of Brandes in 1879, 1883, 1900 and 1902. None of the works received joint applause from the parties involved, and Hornung points to the "considerable vanity" of the model. Krøyer had his own reservations about the 1902 version: There, now I have made you look like an alcoholic Swede making a dinner speech. Source: Peter Michael Hornung, Peder Severin Krøyer, page 32.
