Notes This painting is credited as “Lemminkäisen tulo saareen” (The Arrival of Lemminkäinen to Saari) at the 2018 source. Some recent publications, academic in nature that have used the same web page as a source also credit it under that name. However the same site also uses the title “Lemminkäisen lähtö saaresta”, as seen here https://kalevalaseura.fi/en/about-kalevala/themes-and-worldview/. In addition, a more dedicated site to Pekka Halonen used Lemminkäisen lähtö saaresta as early as 2016: https://web.archive.org/web/20160417084303/https://www.halosenniemi.fi/sivu.tmpl?sivu_id=137. Google seems to indicate a possible earliest date of 2007 for that page. Simply judging by the looks of the women in the painting it seems like a somber moment, with one woman seemingly crying. The woman in front would also be terribly uninterested in Lemminkäinen if he just arrived.
