Summary

Description
Suomi: Polvijärven ortodoksinen kirkko eli Pyhän Johannes Kastajan kirkko Polvijärven kirkonkylässä.

Kirkko toimii Suomen ortodoksisen kirkon Kuopion ja Karjalan hiippakunnan, Taipaleen ortodoksisen seurakunnan Polvijärven alueen pyhäkkönä. Kirkon temppelijuhlaa eli praasniekkaa vietetään 24. kesäkuuta.

Kirkkorakennuksen suunnitteli sortavalalaissyntyinen rakennusmestari tai arkkitehti Ivan Kanninen. Se nousi palossa tuheutuneen kirkon (1902-1909) paikalle. Kirkkoa varten seudun ortodokseilta kerättiin rahoitusta, ja osan lahjoitti tsaari, Suomen suuriruhtinas Nikolai II. Kirkon vihki 26. heinäkuuta 1914 arkkipiispa Sergei.
