22 March 1756–13 May 1756: purchased by Remy (‘pour l'Angleterre’) at the sale of the collection of Tableaux, sculptures, tant de marbre que de bronze, dessins et estampes des plus grands maitres, porcelaines anciennes, meubles precieux, bijoux, et autres effets qui composent le Cabinet de feu Monsieur le Duc de Tallard at Remy & Glomy, Paris, lot no. 156, for FRF 602 (as ‘Rembrandt Van-Rhyn. / 156. Une Mariée Juive les cheveux épars, & une couronne de fleurs sur la tête, elle pose la main droite sur une canne qui est pareillement entourée de fleurs, & de la gauche elle tient un gros bouquet. La figure est de grandeur naturelle, & peinte dans ce ton de couleur vigoureux qu'on admire dans tous les ouvrages de Rembrandt. La tête est d'un beau caractere & d'un grand effet. La grandeur de ce Tableau est de 45 pouces de haut, sur 54 pouces de large’)
