Description
English: Vasakasajja-Nayika. From Gahrhwal, Pahari, circa A.D. 1800. Presently kept at the National Museum in Delhi, India. Done on Paper, 27 x 18.5 cm. The well known Hindi medieval court poet of Orchha, Keshavdasa in his long narrative poem Rasikapriya has dealt with various types of heroines or nayikas. He described the Vasakasajja-Nayika as a nayika who decorates who decorates her bed with flowers ready for union, impatiently awaiting her lord's arrival.
