This script adds a link at the top of each item with a link for quickly requesting a deletion on Wikidata:Requests for deletion.

How to use

Enable it in your preferences. In the "More" menu in the top-right corner, you will find a link that says "Request deletion".

Script does not work for me

Was a bug because of a missig komma. I also fixed the "check" method so now every page which is requested for deletion will be marked. --Bene* ^t_a^l_k 09:25, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

A correction:

The reason for the correction is that the old message doesn't fit well with the warning icon at the top right corner of the page. The old message says, literally, 'this deletion has already been requested', and, in the context of the icon, I think it's not a deletion what the system is talking about, but the item itself. Hello, and hello @Bene*: We've found that marking translation units for deletion at Meta is a bit of a problem. Apparently fixing the software for this is unlikely to happen so I remembered that a script was used here to request deletions. Update merge notice

The notice duplicate items need to be merged now (emphasis added) was added over three years ago; I don’t remember how accurate it was back then (did we not merge items before 2015? Help:Merge has history going back to 2013), but surely by now we can get rid of the word “now” and just say that “duplicate items should be merged”?

{{Editrequest}} Currently, this gadget loads the full Wikidata:Requests for deletions page source each time a user who has the gadget enabled loads an item, to check whether the item has had a deletion requested. (Nitpick: it also requests rvslots: '*' despite only needing the main slot.) I suggest to avoid this by first checking whether RfD links to the item (action=query, titles=RfD, prop=links, pltitles=Q1234); if the link exists, then that doesn’t guarantee that the item has a deletion request (it could just be mentioned in the discussion, so the gadget should still load and check RfD), but if the link doesn’t exist, then the item definitely doesn’t have a deletion request, and the network cost of loading RfD can be skipped.
