Lexeme language edit

@Dhx1: This property can be used in lexemes, but also in items. Then, lexeme requires language constraint (Q55819106) breaks the constraints reports. Is there any way to apply the restriction only to lexemes? If it is not, we should remove the restriction from this property.--FogueraC (talk) 11:46, 3 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

In general, restricting constraints to certain entity types is T269724, but in this case I would say that the constraint type should only apply to lexemes (and forms and senses) by its very nature, and trying to check it on other entity types is a bug in the implementation (in this case, in KrBot – ping Ivan A. Krestinin). WikibaseQualityConstraints already skips this constraint on items, I believe. --Lucas Werkmeister (WMDE) (talk) 08:23, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Aaaaah! Thank you for the report, @FogueraC, Dhx1:. It took a concrete case to make it understandable and you gave it. Thank you.
As a reminder, @Lucas Werkmeister (WMDE):, I told you about this problem in April (see here), but you did not respond. Just in case and as advertised, the same problem is also valid with the value Wikibase MediaInfo (Q59712033) where errors are reported to Commons, for example. I came up with a fix that worked, looking like constraint scope (P4680) (which doesn't help anyway), but everyone didn't like it. However, this is the best way (I don't know where now).
Now, @Mohammed Sadat (WMDE):, do you understand the problem better? For the date of May 2018, this is not a message, but the end of the implementation of allowed-entity-types constraint (Q52004125) and property scope constraint (Q53869507) (made mandatory on all properties afterwards). See T269724.
Cordially. —Eihel (talk) 12:11, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
I changed the bot`s code. The nearest update is in progress already, so it will use old behavior. The next update should be fine. — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 15:06, 16 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Broken link edit

The link at X chromosome (Q61333) is broken; it should be changed from https://www.enciclopedia.cat/ec-gec-0240457.xml to https://www.enciclopedia.cat/gran-enciclopedia-catalana/cromosoma-x

Can a bot please check all such links and make the corrections where necessary? —capmo (talk) 13:57, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

GEC changed the web and the identifiers. Although the link at X chromosome (Q61333) is broken, some old links are redirected to the current ones. The good way to solve the issue is possibly to create a new property for the new identifiers and mark this one as deprecated. The new identifiers could be checked by a bot if the redirection works. Some other GEC properties (like EEC) are also affected. This issue has been talked in Catalan Wikipedia. FogueraC (talk) 16:32, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
I have scripted a code that fix old links that redirect to new ones using a 301. I think that we can reuse the present property, are you agree?--KRLS (talk) 11:38, 16 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi, KRLS, good job. Anyway, we need a new property for adding new values with new identifiers. Vriullop (talk) 09:19, 29 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Finding ID edit

Where can I find an ID for a selected article in GEC, to add it to Wikidata item? I can't see it anywhere. Or is it impossible for an ordinary human? SolarisAmigo (talk) 00:11, 23 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

I too have this question. I've been searching for days. Peter Brew (talk) 17:26, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
See comments above. The numeric ID is obsolete, although currently it redirects to new URL. We need a new property with new alphabetic identifiers. Vriullop (talk) 09:14, 29 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

In one case, la:Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen using la:Formula:Fontes biographici, the numeric identifier no longer redirects to the page. I haven't tested others, but maybe we need to implement the change now? Andrew Dalby (talk) 19:16, 7 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
