Missing references edit

Any claim using convicted of (P1399) with a person should be referenced. Here is SPARQL query that identifies problematic items:

PREFIX wd: <http://www.wikidata.org/entity/>
PREFIX wdt: <http://www.wikidata.org/prop/direct/>
PREFIX p: <http://www.wikidata.org/prop/>
PREFIX ps: <http://www.wikidata.org/prop/statement/>
PREFIX prov: <http://www.w3.org/ns/prov#>

select ?person ?name ?crime_label where {
  ?person wdt:P31 wd:Q5 .
  ?person p:P1399 ?crime_statement .
  ?crime_statement ps:P1399 ?crime .
  filter not exists { ?crime_statement prov:wasDerivedFrom ?ref . }
  optional { ?person rdfs:label ?name . FILTER (LANG(?name) = "en") }
  optional { ?crime rdfs:label ?crime_label . FILTER (LANG(?crime_label) = "en") }
 }
Try it!

Note that that only returns people with an English label, there are a few which don't have one. - Nikki (talk) 14:50, 8 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the note. I added an 'optional' to fix the issue. — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 11:54, 11 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Country qualifer edit

I have added country (P17) as allowed qualifier for the property, thinking of the chance that a conviction can be invalid in a country different from the one in which the sentence was emitted. Any thoughts? --Ogoorcs (talk) 01:06, 20 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Add "court" (P4884) as allowed qualifier edit

I'd like to propose to add court (P4884) to allowed qualifiers constraint (Q21510851) in order to mention the ruling body.

Source requirement edit

I added citation needed constraint (Q54554025) as a criminal fact for a person (or company) should be sourced, otherwise it might be blaming, see Wikidata:Living_people --Hannolans (talk) 19:33, 17 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Re: Q17096963 edit

I got this reminder when editing: "An entity with convicted of should also have a statement place of detention." Not necessarily, as a person can be convicted, but not serve time. Mycomp (talk) 10:13, 21 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

victim (P8032) qualifier? edit

I think this should allow the qualifier victim (P8032). Can I add it? DemonDays64 | Talk to me 05:15, 22 August 2020 (UTC) (please ping on reply)Reply
