ScopeEdit

This property should be used in the same manner as video (P10). If a video is relevant to the item, it should be offered to the user, no matter where it is stored, or what its license is. We are linking to plenty of non-free web pages, after all. --Magnus Manske (talk) 09:18, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

More URL formatters?Edit

So video can be embedded via iframe with the URL https://www.youtube.com/embed/$1. For the privacy conscious there's a "nocookie" variant (initially US gov website, now EU cookie law) https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/$1. Dispenser (talk) 17:15, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

Don't use on peopleEdit

Hi @קיין ומוויסנדיק פּרעפֿערענצן:, the property YouTube video ID (P1651) should only be used on items that represent one of the following:

video (Q34508), film (Q11424), episode (Q1983062), television station (Q1616075), speech (Q861911), extended play (Q169930), event (Q1656682), symphony (Q9734), trailer (Q622550), musical composition (Q207628), cover version (Q155171), work (Q386724).

Not for things that are vaguely related to the subject of the item:

Björk (Person) → efdPHHlLTgI (Random collection of Songs by Björk)

Or should it? --Shisma (talk) 05:47, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

Hi Shisma! I am very happy for your commment. I inserted P1651 WLH at Yuri Levitan (Q982056 R) adding sources about his speach as moderator of Soviet Radio Moscow (Q18555670 R) related to the start and end of WWII. I used the property at Lord's Prayer (Q23393 R) to be able to add examples linking to languages with a restrictor number of contribeeors eiter at the WMF projects or at Wikidata. Leonard Nimoy (Q16345 R) is adding information not konwn to most of the WMF contributors, Cighid (Q354358 R) about articles of the most infamuous places of euthanasia (Q100159 R) of our time has no internal WMF resources available. I tried to describe what is available via Youtube. Please take a look at the way I used it also at pages related to Yiddish songs (Q8053529 R WLH). I used more different additional qualifiers performer (P175), language of work or name (P407), title (P1476) and sometimes also instance of (P31) I discovered more then 200 unlinked pages at shortlink to something meaning wikisource:yi:category:songs. Please look at my edits in detail. Would be most thankfull for any workable solution. Best regards

Ghetto (Q13382550) and / or Ghetto (Q327966) and Shtiller, Shtiller (Q65943824) using character role (P453) while Schindler's List ([[Q483941]|]) is using inspired by (property:P941)

I'm not really convinced by some of your others. If it's a video of a song, instead of adding it to the item of a performer, I'd rather put that on the item for the song or possibly on a separate item for the video clip. --- Jura 18:45, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
