inverse property
links a property to its inverse property (which relates the subject and object in reverse order)
Representsinverse (Q7017933)
Data typeProperty
DomainWikidata property (Q18616576)
Usage notesLinks a property to its inverse property. Implements owl:inverseOf. Each self-inverse property should be {{P|31}}: {{Q|18647518}}.Please don't create inverses often! Read the judicious reasons why the PROV ontology has no inverses. May be used to hunt down and delete inverses.

Can't be subproperty of P461 edit

It seems to me this can't be a subproperty of P461, since they have different domains. I will delete the claim. NisJørgensen (talk) 20:09, 22 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

This is for inverses, not opposites/antonyms edit

The documentation makes quite clear that this is for inverses only, in the mathematical sense. Ie: If A is the child of B, then B is the parent of A. This doesn't work for Antonyms - if A is the highest point of B, it does not follow that B is the lowest point of A, etc NisJørgensen (talk) 13:43, 25 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Actually it is for neither, or a least a very prominent pair of examples so indicates. father (P22) is claimed to be the inverse of child (P40), and so is mother (P25). But these are not inverse properties. Peter F. Patel-Schneider (talk) 14:15, 22 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Property scope: qualifier edit

I dont think this edit is correct, this property is supposed to be used to indicate the inverse of a property and will thus not be used as qualifier only but also as main property. It now leads to a lot of constraint violations, see for example here. @Dhx1: maybe you can explain what you attempted to do here? --Hannes Röst ([[User talk:Hannes Röst}}|talk]]) 15:56, 17 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
