Item requires statement constraints edit

This property has a lot of constraints which are not related to the ISO codes which were added back in the early days of Wikidata. I've removed some of the constraints which had a lot of constraint violations (they haven't been fixed in five years, so they can't be very useful constraints). Any reason why we shouldn't remove the others? - Nikki (talk) 14:20, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Maybe there is a more suitable property for them (one that is just used on sovereign states). The approach works fairly well for US states. See here. It also ensure that these don't disappear.

It doesn't prevent them from disappearing, every single one of the constraints here has violations. I don't see any evidence that anyone actually cares about these constraints (nobody appears to have even noticed that the report has been completely broken for 6 weeks), so I'm going to go ahead and remove them. If someone is interested in tracking the completeness of items, it's easy to make a Listeria-based report. - Nikki (talk) 10:39, 11 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

No value with preferred rank ? edit

If there is an end date on a value, should we also a "novalue" claim with preferred rank (and start date)? sample. Obviously, unless there is a new value that would have it.
