Non-compliance property? edit

Is there a property to use when an item does not comply with another item? The Bechdel test (Q4165246) was used as an example when P5009 was first proposed, but it appears as though we still need Q45172088 to provide a counterpart to Q45171911. More generally, it would be nice to be able to use Wikidata to express the compliance table here: w:Comparison of electoral systems#Comparisons, and to more-easily collaborate on all of the citations associated with that table. I was able to successfully mark the relationship between Copeland's method (Q5168347) and monotonicity criterion (Q6902035) (because Copeland complies with Monotonicity), but (for example) it doesn't yet seem possible to mark the relationship between instant-runoff voting (Q1491219) and monotonicity criterion (Q6902035) (which doesn't comply). -- RobLa (talk) 22:11, 29 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Bechdel test as an example edit

I removed the Bechdel test as a property example, for now, as this property is not used for it, currently (has characteristic (P1552) is used as it also allows to indicate that a narrative work fails the test - without saying that this is a good way to provide this information). Should there be a decision to use P5009 instead, I will readd the Bechdel test as a property example. - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 16:12, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Isn't "complies with" a better property for that than the more generic "has quality"? Omegatron (talk) 17:29, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Currently there is no way to express that a film does not comply with a test. But even if there was one: We have to think of media representation tests without binary "complies with"/"does not comply with" results, but just a score or something like that. We would need to discuss this in Wikidata_talk:WikiProject_Media_Representation. Until we reached consensus I would not like to make any edits that favour one approach or another. (But we are aware that there may be a better property than has characteristic (P1552), in the future) - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 13:09, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Something like the Bechdel test or the Condorcet criterion is a binary result, not a score. Something either complies or it doesn't. So this is the best property to describe compliance, and then we need a "doesn't comply with" property to complement it, as in the previous discussions:

As I already wrote: We have to think of media representation tests without binary "complies with"/"does not comply with" results. The Bechdel test is not the only Media Representation Test. - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 14:57, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
To have a media representation test that is not binary: the DuVernay Test (Which does not make complies with (P5009) not applicable generally, but we have to take it into account. Maybe a third property for tests that has a score as a result could be used, if complies with (P5009)/fails compliance with should be used) - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 15:14, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Ok, but assessment (P5021) and test score (P5022) already exist. Do they work for that test? Omegatron (talk) 15:31, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that could be possible. Sorry for stalling but I would like to take my time to think about it and I would not like to rush without knowing how other project members feel about it. :) - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 15:44, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Use as qualifier? edit

I am about to propose a property for URL to accessibility reports (which many public organizations are required to publish and other organizations do as well). I am thinking that using this as a qualifier to specify what standard they are aiming for and measure against in those reports. Any viewpoints on that? Ainali (talk) 10:34, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thinking a bit more, and discussing with Abbe98, I think perhaps it should be the other way around than what I first suggested. So for a statement with P5009, there could be a qualifier with accessibility report URL for values of that type (probably most often Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (Q5364439), but there might be others). Ainali (talk) 12:30, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Since the property has been created, I'll change the constraints to allow for being used as qualifier. Ainali (talk) 08:16, 30 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
