Use on journals edit

I think this property should also be used on journals. see w:Template_talk:Infobox_journal#ADS_bibcode for a related discussion a few years ago.

e.g. Celestial Mechanics and Dynamical Astronomy (Q2792544) => CeMDA

I saw your proposal. I'll answer you in next days. --Paperoastro (talk) 10:18, 6 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Paperoastro, I have proposed a new property at Wikidata:Property proposal/Creative work. John Vandenberg (talk) 15:00, 7 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Paperoastro: Did anything come of this? I think bibstem might be useful, but I'm not well-versed on properties. Trilotat (talk) 23:40, 20 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi, @Trilotat:. This property is very useful to link scientific works recorded in the Astrophysics Data System (ADS) of NASA. This huge database references all astronomical (not only) scientific paper. In principle this property can be used also for journals, because each of them have an unique identifier, but the format string will be different and we should need to modify the format constraint to check both paper and journal string format. --Paperoastro (talk) 08:00, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Paperoastro: I've been adding bibcode to earth science items, hopeful that someday that bibcode will be useful in linking the articles here. For now, I'm focused on adding items and adding the bibcode identifier to those items. I was thinking that, somehow, I could prioritize my work on those journals (bibstem) with the most items here in wikidata without a bibcode. Cheers, Trilotat (talk) 20:10, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Looks like PNAS is a good bibstem to work on. It has at least 50K items here without a bibcode. Unfortnately, I couldn't run a QuickStatement without it crashing, so I will work on it in chunks. Cheers, Trilotat (talk) 15:34, 23 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

update on format constraint please edit

I think this format constraint needs an update. I don't know how to do it, but would ask for some expert intervention. I just added a valid P819 to Progressive back-warping of a rider block atop an actively exhuming, continental low-angle normal fault (Q99519576) and see the constraint violation. I see it a lot when adding P819. Thank you in advance for any help. Trilotat (talk) 13:00, 21 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Retraction notice to: Experimental FT-IR, FT-Raman spectra and quantum chemical studies of optimized molecular structures, conformers and vibrational characteristics of Nicotinic acid and Thio-nicotinic acid [Spectrochim. Acta Part A: Mol. Biomol. Sp (Q114673426) is now resulting in a constraint violation, but it's formatted correctly. Can someone who understands regex update the constraint? I'm sorry to ask, but I don't want to edit it incorrectly. Thank you. Trilotat (talk) 16:34, 17 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
