hairstyle and hair colour - how to model? edit
Right now style requires colour, but I can think of at least one style that doesn't have a colour -- baldness. Rather than require such a case with a null value, I recommend that colour be an optional qualifier for style. Arlo Barnes (talk) 22:27, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- Still need to sort out the whole baldness and toupe thing. --Trade (talk) 13:24, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
- I still think 'object has role' can be useful. So a bald person wearing a wig would have hairstyle=bald, hairstyle=[whatever the wig is] (o.h.r.=wig). Maybe an item 'style using natural hair' could be made to qualify the first statement, the same as we have the 'natural hair colour' / 'dyed hair colour' pair of items. Arlo Barnes (talk) 18:43, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
- Or, simply 'uses' as I tried out at Janice Rand (Q2707157). Arlo Barnes (talk) 18:58, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
Would you kindly copy the labels and aliases from hairstyle (Q327496) to this item? Like you did when creating facial hair? @Jura1:--Trade (talk) 08:56, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
Hair length edit
- very short hair (Q102247468) - no longer than the ear (inferred from c:Category:Female very short hair)
- short hair (Q17126303) = no longer than the chin
- shoulder-length hair (Q102247646) - longer than the ear but shorter than the shoulder
- waist-length hair (Q14130) - longer than the shoulder, shorter than the waist
- very long hair (Q102247774) - longer than the waist, shorter than the ankle
- ankle-length hair (Q102247829) - longer than the ankle, shorter than the floor
- extremely long hair (Q102247882) - anything longer than the ankle
Thoughts? @Arlo Barnes, Shisma:--Trade (talk) 12:40, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
- 'has quality' either as a qualifier or standalone statement? And in some cases it would probably be better on the hairstyle item itself as a subclass-of (pageboys are always basically between the ear and shoulder, for instance). Arlo Barnes (talk) 19:01, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
- As standalone. Please see Kyoko Kirigiri (Q65663126) and Junko Enoshima (Q97667530) for examples. I would not use these on items such as Afroman (Q225855) for obvious reasons. --Trade (talk) 19:09, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
