just use numerical ID? edit

@GZWDer, ChristianKl, ArthurPSmith, UWashPrincipalCataloger: I'm about to make a Mix'n'Match for this property, but before doing so, noticed that we could switch to just using the numerical bit of the ID. So, for example, our URL would point to: https://peopleaustralia.anu.edu.au/biography/_-29896 . This has precedent in quite a few other properties, and allows us to be stable against name changes. I'm happy to do the work to change the documentation and the few existing examples. --99of9 (talk) 03:04, 8 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Comment The links that are in items are not working. When you click on the numeric ID you get a "404 — Not Found" page and a note like this: "The requested URL /biography/23269 was not found on this server." Perhaps the formatter URL doesn't work correctly? UWashPrincipalCataloger (talk) 19:48, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Usually when a formatter is updated it takes up to a day to switch all the links over to use the new formatter. It seems to be taking a bit longer this time, but I'll monitor it. --99of9 (talk) 00:00, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
