Then, on October 15, 1946 Captian Jean Vlug, the Dutch Monuments Man associated with Faison, Plaut, and Rousseau, delivered a report to London Station. It seemed that Vlug didn't trust his report to be filed through normal channels, because he insisted that Faison's copy be hand-delivered to him personally. The report was a stunning piece of work detailing operations of Dienststelle Mühlmann in the Netherlands, Belgium , and France, with nearly 150 pages itemizing stolen property and where to find it. He stated that a copy of Faison's Office of Strategic Services (OSS) interrogations were included in the papers and asked if I could obtain a copy for him. An informative phone call, as I had been looking for these papers for many years. These documents, along with all the World War II OSS papers, had been turned over to the CIA in 1948 and subsequently placed in their archives at the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, Maryland, apparently, never to see the light of day again. ...To my complete surprise his file contained all three OSS "Art Looting Investigations" reports along with one by Captain Jean Vlug of the Royal Netherlands Army.
