I believe that Q11871615 has more appropriate set of sitelinks to be a "template" class for P:P31. --Infovarius (talk) 20:58, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
- This one certainly does look messy and ill-fitting, but I'm not exactly sure how the best way to get an item with the other ones' sitelinks but this one's existing usage is... SamB (talk) 22:10, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Shouldn't it be called "mediawiki template" instead of "wikimedia template"? Its a feature of the mediawiki software not the wikimedia projects. -- DerFussi 20:27, 21 June 2017 (UTC)
- MediaWiki template is a feature, part of the software. Wikimedia template is a usage of the feature. Matěj Suchánek (talk) 12:11, 22 June 2017 (UTC)
- Still does not sound logical to me. -- DerFussi 11:11, 2 July 2017 (UTC)
- Sounds very logical. Stryn (talk) 13:02, 2 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Stryn, @Matěj Suchánek Not really. It's a template, used in a project, run with mediawiki software. so.. its a mediawiki template. ... Wikimedia is an associataion that runs projects that use mediawiki software. You can run these templates in other project as well, in projects not owned by the Wikimedia Foundation.. how would you call it then? If you write a template in PHP language, you would call it PHP template, even if its run in a Wikimedia project. right? -- DerFussi 20:37, 2 July 2017 (UTC)
- Maybe there can be two concepts called "MediaWiki template". The first one is the feature, the second one is a type of page on a project running MediaWiki, making use of the feature. So we could say all Wikimedia templates are also MediaWiki templates (pages). Matěj Suchánek (talk) 07:20, 3 July 2017 (UTC)
- No worries. It's not important to me. It just comes up always, when I use it :) -- DerFussi 05:22, 3 July 2017 (UTC)
