You have been restricted temporarily from editing certain areas of the encyclopedia for abuse of editing privileges. Once this block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest it by editing this page and adding the following template with a suitable reason: {{unblock|1=<the reason for your unblock request>}}. If you are logged in, and the option has not been disabled, you may also email the blocking administrator (or any administrator from this list) by using this form.

This template is for the use of administrators to notify users that they have been blocked, on their talk pages. Its use is not compulsory but is useful given the multi-lingual nature of Wikidata.

The basic syntax, in English, is {{subst:Pblock|1=|2=|3=}} where all parameters are optional. Parameter 1 is the block duration, and accepts any string that signifies an amount of time. Setting it to indefinite changes the English version to a version that reflects an indefinite block - different translations of this template may use different words.

Parameter 2 is the area of block for the user. Templates {{Q}} and {{P}} can be used, if the block is relative to an item or property.

Parameter 3 is the reason of the block and completes the sentence "You have been blocked from editing Wikidata temporarily for...", and if omitted, defaults to "abuse of editing privileges".

To create a new language version of this template, create Template:Block/<language code> with the following:

{{Block/layout |text=<translated text> |lang=<language code> |1={{{1|}}} }}

The translated text must include a {{{3|}}} parameter for the block reason. Add a link to your translation at Template:Block/lang when you're done. If you wish to use a word other than "indefinite" for an indefinite block, add it to the switch in Template:Block/layout.
