Wikimedia Germany and the Open Knowledge Foundation Germany are organizing a Wikidata hackathon in Ulm (Germany) on 22-24 February 2019, and we're looking for volunteers to give some short introductions to Wikidata and tools, so the participants can learn more about them and start hacking around :)
The sessions would be the following:
- Introduction to Wikidata (1 hour, 2 times)
- How to query Wikidata? Introduction to the Query Service (1 hour, 2 times)
- Query Wikidata with APIs (30min)
- Open Refine: prepare your data to add them into Wikidata (30min)
- QuickStatements: Mass import into Wikidata (30min)
- New Wikidata Features (Lexemes, etc.) (30min)
- Selection of useful Wikidata tools and gadgets (30min)
The Wikidata & Query Service intro would happen one time on Friday 22nd evening, one time on Saturday 23rd. The other sessions would take place on Saturday. The event would take place in German, the introductions should be in German as well.
The trainers could participate to the entire hackathon and their transport and accommodation would be covered.
