Hi! First, a big thanks for the ever-so-useful quickstatements tool. I have a question about this item that was created by QuickStatementsBot, but does not attribute the edit to any user. Is this intended behaviour? Thanks!

It is, of sorts. This was the original QuickStatements method. Most of my tools now either use OAuth to edit as the user, or link to the user. Not implemented for the SourceMD tool here, bu it just adds papers and authors automatically, no overly creative act is involved.

Thanks. I have also seen SourceMD make attributed edits via QuickStatementsBot. Does that mean it's using a blend of new and old?

I think it's the bot when it's automatically triggered, and a user when triggered manually. Haven't looked at the code in a while though...
