While the manual edits are my own, I also operate SlingWikiBot as part of my work on the Sling project at Google.

One of the things that we hope to be able to contribute with in the Sling project is to help increase the amount of high-quality claims in Wikidata. In particular, we are working on extracting the implicit claims that can be inferred from category memberships in Wikipedia across languages and then adding these claims to Wikidata in a controlled, cautious fashion. E.g., for any item, Qdmc, which is a member of Category:Danish male cyclists, the item Qdmc should have the following claims

property:P21 (sex or gender) being Q6581097 (male),

property:P27 (country of citizenship) being Q35 (Denmark), and

property:P106 (occupation) being Q2309784 (sport cyclist).
