September 2022 edit

Thank you for contributing to Wikidata. I see that you recently created an item Q113693938 that does not clearly indicate its notability. The Wikidata project only accepts items that meet its notability criteria, and your item is therefore likely to be deleted soon. In brief, items must have an associated Wikipedia article, must be needed for statements on another notable item, or must have both identifiers and serious sources. For the last case, a good indication of notability would be multiple articles about the subject in independent publications like newspapers or magazines. You can add such sources as references to specific claims using reference URL (P854), or as top-level claims using described at URL (P973).

Also, this may not apply in this specific case, but you should know that we discourage editors from contributing on topics with which they have a strong personal connection, as this may present a conflict of interest. If you are being paid to edit here, then you are obliged to disclose this. For a longer version, you might find it useful to read the essay "How to create an item on Wikidata so that it won't get deleted".  Bovlb (talk) 03:58, 6 September 2022 (UTC) --Bovlb (talk) 03:58, 6 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please include P31 edit

Hi, I noticed you've created a bunch of items for fictional characters. It is important that they contain a instance of (P31) value to indicate that they are fictional. Please add something like fictional human (Q15632617) to the items you are creating. Thanks. BrokenSegue (talk) 16:45, 28 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for fixing that. One small other thing. Looks like you decided Tricky Dicky (Q7841215) is about a character but if you go and look at the wikipedia article you'll see it's actually about the comic strip of the same name. In cases like this it might make sense to have two items (one about the comic strip linked to the wikipedia article) and one about the main character linked to the first item on wikidata. date of birth (P569) and date of death (P570) on fictional character items edit

Hello,

I see that you have added a date of birth (P569) and sometimes date of death (P570) to many of the fictional character items that you have created as well as to existing ones. I have not seen any of these statements contain a reference to where this information is coming from. Would you please go back and add a reference to a reliable source wherever one is missing? Help:Sources has some guidelines for how to do this. If you would instead like to list your sources here then I will be happy to add them in for you. Thanks, and please let me know if you have any questions.

--Quesotiotyo (talk) 04:11, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Do you have a source for this edit? If you would like these statements to remain, I strongly suggest that you add a reference to these claims. Again, I will add them for you if you need assistance -- just tell me where you got these dates and I will take care of the rest.

Recreation of deleted item edit

I have deleted Q119976231 because it appears to be a recreation of deleted item Q110231512 . This means that we have already made a decision that this entity does not satisfy our notability criteria. Please do not recreate deleted items, as they are likely to be deleted again immediately, and your account may be blocked. To appeal this decision, see Wikidata:Guide to requests for undeletion. I have a block problem edit

Some of these pages will return to notability so they won't get deleted. If I get unblocked, Bovlb would create them to be notable: Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard#How these pages won't get deleted 67.218.18.234 21:30, 1 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Apology edit

Hello User:Bovlb, I already went to your talk page to apologize for the mistake i made, only to realize that I had been blocked from editing. Please unblock me today. 67.218.18.234 14:16, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Unblock request declined

This blocked user asked to be unblocked, but one or more administrators has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators can also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason.

Request reason:
If I won't get blocked, the pages I created are notable.
Decline reason:
The reason for requesting unblock is not valid

Hi! Thanks for following up. Unfortunately, your unblock request doesn't really address the reason why you were blocked. Six days ago, you were warned about recreating deleted items. You were specifically told not to do it, and advised that doing so might lead to your being blocked. Since then, you have recreated three more previously-deleted items. This is why you are blocked. Your unblock message does not indicate any understanding of this and suggests that, if unblocked, you would continue with the same disruptive behaviour. Bovlb (talk) 15:54, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Unblock declined. There are millions of valid things to do on wikidata and you insist on just adding non-notable items. You don't even seem to accept that this is a problem. BrokenSegue (talk) 16:10, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
