Please, do not create items with blatant nonsense, and try to contribute constructively to the project. Thanks. --Sannita - not just another it.wiki sysop 21:12, 8 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Also, please do not blank your user talk in order to hide unwanted messages. --Sannita - not just another it.wiki sysop 10:21, 13 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi. This is entirely unhelpful as a message, and doubly so to say that users cannot delete unhelpful messages from their own talk pages is basically bullying.

What would make this a helpful message is:

  • Evidence of this "blatant nonsense". Just because you disagree with something (I guess?) doesn't make it nonsense. Or are you somehow the arbiter of what is truth?
  • Evidence of a policy that users should post such messages as yours, rather than just editing what they consider nonsense. I have found MANY assertions that are completely wrong. For example: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Talk:Q766 some user added the LCNAF term for Rebecca Goldstein as the external LC identifier for Jamaica. I hope you posted your diatribe on their talk page too.
  • Objective criteria for what is "nonsense" such that we might judge any examples.
  • Evidence of a policy that editing one's own talk pages is not allowed.

Thanks for further convincing me that wikidata is terrible.

I was referring to Q103576434, which you created with the title of "adding entries to talk page" and with the telling description of "The process of adding entries to your own talk page to avoid the 50 edit minimum limit before you can edit semi-locked entries", probably referring to your experience that you outline in your userpage.
Also, editing your own talk page is allowed, what's not allowed is to blank it completely to avoid other people to see that you've been reprimanded.
As for the tone and the rest of your message, I'll close an eye on that for now. But it will weigh in next time. --Sannita - not just another it.wiki sysop 11:02, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Eihel. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent description edits to Q107167408 didn't meet the Wikidata description guidelines. Descriptions should appear as though they were in the middle of a sentence, typically start with a lowercase letter, and written from a neutral point of view. For example, "pop singer" would be a better description than "He is the best pop singer." If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks!  Eihel (talk) 15:50, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikidata. When you add content to Wikidata talk pages and/or other Wikidata pages that have open discussion , such as at Talk:Q57839788, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you.  Eihel (talk) 10:31, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
